Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about getting started and managing rental administration with LetAssist.

01What is LetAssist?
LetAssist is a digital letting administration platform for South African landlords and property managers. It is designed to keep property details, tenant documents, payment records and important lease dates organised in one workspace.
02Who can use LetAssist?
LetAssist is intended for landlords managing one or more residential rental properties, as well as property professionals who need a more organised way to manage rental administration.
03How do I get started?
Select Sign Up / Sign In to create a landlord account. The setup journey includes activating your subscription, registering your properties, uploading reusable documents and adding relevant tenant and lease details. Subscription activation depends on the live payment service being available.
04Can I register more than one property?
Yes. LetAssist is designed to organise multiple properties within a single landlord portfolio, with information recorded separately for each property.
05Which documents can I upload?
You can organise reusable documents such as rental application forms, FICA requirements, credit-check consent forms, property condition reports and lease templates. Relevant completed documents can also be kept with tenant records as supported by the platform.
06Does LetAssist screen tenants or perform credit checks?
The landlord remains responsible for deciding how applicants are screened. LetAssist supports the administration of applications and consent documents. Third-party credit-check integration is being considered and is not currently promised as an active service.
07Can LetAssist help me monitor rent and deposits?
LetAssist is being developed to help landlords record deposits and monthly rental payments, see payment history and identify amounts requiring follow-up. It is an administration tool, not a guarantee of payment or debt collection.
08Will LetAssist remind me about outstanding documents and lease dates?
Document follow-ups and reminders for important lease dates are planned features. Availability will depend on the relevant functionality being completed and verified.
09Does LetAssist provide legal advice or eviction cover?
No. LetAssist is an administrative support platform. It does not replace professional legal advice, provide eviction insurance, issue court orders or automatically conduct evictions.
10How much does LetAssist cost?
Subscription pricing and payment options will be shown on the Pricing page when confirmed. Live payment activation will only be offered once the payment process is ready.
11Is LetAssist ready for live use?
LetAssist is currently being developed and tested. Some features, including integrations and automated reminders, may not yet be available for production use.
